BALTIMORE: Nick Ruth's debut Young Adult fantasy novel, The Dark Dreamweaver, published by Imaginator Press of Baltimore, is a Finalist for the premier independent publishing honor: PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association's Benjamin Franklin Award. Named after the Revolutionary War statesman who printed and published books and newspapers, the award recognizes books of editorial excellence and superior production quality in a number of categories.
In The Dark Dreamweaver, David, a boy from our own world, visits Remin, the world of dreams...does battle with the evil sorcerer Thane...and is aided by an imprisoned wizard battling the dream thief and living repeatedly through the lifecycle of a monarch butterfly.
The Dark Dreamweaver was already named an American Booksellers Association Book Sense Children's Pick and praised in several national publications—including Heartland Review, Midwest Book Review, Independent Publisher and others. Nick Ruth, and his illustrator, Sue Concannon, are both employees at the Social Security Administration office in Woodlawn, MD. Ruth is hard at work on a sequel.
